Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator

Job Description

Our company is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator who will be responsible for operating the excavator on site to perform tasks such as grading, trenching, backfill, and general civil duties. You will play a crucial role in site development and standing water management through fill movement. Occasionally, operators may be required to assist with general labor tasks. Daily responsibilities include pre-operation checks, unloading flatbeds of material, staging equipment around the site, and moving concrete in mixers to fill ballasts, all while adhering to the highest safety standards.

Hard Skills

  • Operating heavy equipment such as excavators, top steer and bobcats

  • Performing daily safety checks and pre-operation checks

  • Unloading material from flatbeds

  • Staging equipment

  • Moving concrete in mixers to fill ballasts

Soft Skills

  • Adherence to safety standards

  • Willingness to assist in general labor tasks when necessary

Job Type

This is a contract position with a duration of 3 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Gray, Maine.

Work Environment

Expect a 6x10 shift on a new and exciting solar project. The job involves working in all elements, and safety is our highest priority. As such, work clothing and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn on site, including a hard hat, reflective vest, steel-toed boots, and safety glasses.
