Applied Materials Project Manager Assistant in Grenoble, France

Applied Materials’ APG (Automation Products Group, factory solution software group) seeks to hire a Project Manager Assistant to support our projects in Europe, in collaboration with the Lead Project Manager.

Presales :

  • Work with Sales team to collect information to build the Profit and Loss workbook.

  • Review with customer Request For Quote.

  • Construct the Profit and Loss workbook to define the cost structure including effort, travels, licenses, maintenance, risks, and other costs.

  • Monitor the approval process of the Profit and Loss workbook and make adjustment based on feedbacks

  • Build the proposal slides for the services related tasks

  • Establish high level project plan, project charter, define assumptions, out of scope items, resource plan, risk matrix.

  • Work with regional manager and deployment manager to build the resource plan

  • Create statement of work based on proposal and customer purchase order.

  • Drive Statement of work completion within the review and approval process with PMO team, Customer, Sales, Legal and Management

  • Report progress during weekly internal status meeting on presales

Project Management

  • Initiation

  • Prepare kick off slides

  • Align with customer on project plan, milestones, deliverables

  • Create project plan in MS project

  • Validate resource plan with Deployment Manager and Regional Manager

  • Establish project information in SAP

  • Execution/monitoring/closure

  • Ensure that project remains on track in scope, time and quality by monitoring project activities and updating project plan

  • Review project dashboard by aligning with internal stakeholders and customer project team

  • Ensure good teamwork for project success

  • Ensure management team is setting effective goals, communicating with clarity and transparency to the organization and taking effective action on team culture topics

  • Control project actual (effort and travel) in sap

  • Run project review with customer

  • Run monthly review with applied management

  • Create project change request as needed during the project (PCR, NPC, PoP extension, ...)

  • Organize customer visits during project execution activities.

  • Address first level escalation

  • Prepare and run steering committee

  • Monitor second level escalation

  • Work with customer to project acceptance document signature.

  • Prepare and run project closure meeting

  • Report progress during weekly internal status meeting on running projects

  • Perform internal administrative project closure

  • Collect information within project team on lessons learn and present them to management.

Role Expectation

  • Regular travels to customers sites (20 to 50% of the time depending on activities)

  • Have good level of project management skills (PMI certified is strongly recommended)

  • Proficient in project management tools (MS project, SAP, Pert, SWOT, scrum...)

  • Master’s degree

  • Fluent in English – German is a plus
