What this job involves - The Vendor Manager is responsible for managing all vendor relations/3rd party vendors at JLL's client's site in the Life Sciences industry. Ideally, the Vendor Manager has been exposed to a manufacturing environment or has hands on mechanical experience. What is the day to day? Manage vendor portfolio ensuring regular and frequent meetings are scheduled with the vendors; track outstanding action items to completion. Ensure management is aware of any serious deficiencies with vendors and outlining and managing the corrective action plan. Drive adherence to established processes and demonstrate agility to meet Vendor Management program requirements. Preparation of required vendor qualification documentation. Maintain list of contractors with contact names, emails and off-hour contact information. Provide / maintain list of alternative contractors. Ensure compliance with ISN Requirements, COVID Requirements, Purchase Order / Contractual Requirements and Site Contractor Training and Badging. Ensure all vendors are safety trained and fully safety compliant while working on site; additionally perform contractor on-site safety and compliance audits. Ensure all vendors thoroughly complete and adhere to Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) and Safe Work Permit requirements. Provide contractor spend budget forecasts. Initiate purchase order requests from proposals supplied / approved by JLL Managers. Track purchase order information within appropriate budget spreadsheet. Schedule contactor work in coordination with JLL Planning and Scheduling Group. Identify and drive best practices and standardization. Lead and direct process and program improvement. Serve as point of escalation for issues related to vendor performance. Assist and lead when applicable communications, processes, reporting, and program outputs to management. Act as a central point of contact between JLL and vendor and be able to manage all levels of stakeholders to create success. Drive ongoing process improvement to deliver increasing operational efficiency. Position is required to be on a rotating On-Call schedule. Any and all other tasks and duties assigned. Desired experience and technical skills Required Hands on Mechanical experience. Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with executive level internal & external clients. Customer service mindset; solid interpersonal skills and integrity. Proficient analytical qualities to measure vendor performance. Excellent analytical, problem solving, and project management skills. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects - prioritization. Exceptional people skills, exhibiting the ability to work comfortably with individuals at all levels within the company. Demonstrated leadership skills. Ability to create and foster positive customer relationships. Acts collaboratively to solve problems and resolve spontaneous and unique situations with professionalism and customer service orientation. Proficient with Microsoft Office products such as Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, etc. Preferred 5+ years of relevant working experience. Prior experience in one of the MEP trades.
