Responsibilities You will plan and lay out the work, tracing hard-to-locate defects, problems, and completes repairs and installations with little to no advice. You will be responsible for safe and proper operation of systems and equipment. You will determine installations and repairs including types, sizes, gauges, and lay out of conduit. You will independently plan and lay out routing, placement, and arrangement of industrial or similarly complex systems and circuit controls. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION 1) Repairing and maintaining electrical components, fixtures, and wiring in buildings, facilities, and structures in compliance with National Electrical Code, local codes, building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings; 2) Working from building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, engineering, drawings, and electrical maintenance and repair manuals to plan and lay out the routing, placement type, size, gauge, balance, load, continuity, and safe operation of electrical lines, circuits, systems, equipment and controls; 3) Utilizing hand and power tools, such as cable pullers, hydraulic benders, and pipe threading machines; and a wide variety of test equipment; and 4) Installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical equipment. This position may require special certifications or license if assigned work requires special certifications or licensing to perform the work or to use specialized tools or equipment. This position may be required to become CPR certified. This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. The position often requires irregular hours.
