About the Position

The candidate will be responsible for the running of our powertrain test cells. Demonstration of computer competency, the ability to grasp complex concepts easily, and pay attention to detail is needed. This includes, but is not limited to the activities/responsibilities listed below.

Main Activities and Responsibilities for These Roles

  • Interested, engaged and committed to teamwork and professional development in order to lead the business towards set goals

  • Independent judgement and initiative are required

Core Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning and installation of engine, transmission and/or carriers into test cells in a technologically advanced Development lab.

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and align correct groups for repairs of engines, transmissions and/or carriers.

  • Daily cooperation with team, engineers, and testing community

  • Run engineering test schedules following engineers work instructions

  • Finalize the installation/connection of the test object in cell, and the measurement devices

  • Daily collection of data, test maintenance, and report of progress

  • Adjustment of data in ECU with engineering agreement

  • Willing to learn, grow, be flexible, action oriented and work with a sense of urgency.

  • Ensure all testing is carried out in an efficient manner and help validate data

  • Track test and cell maintenance hours

  • Work with data and instrumentation equipment

  • Be able to lift 50 pounds

Technical Requirements

  • Strong understanding and comprehension of diesel powertrains

  • Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft applications

  • Automotive background a plus

Critical Competencies and Experience Required

  • Able to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP/SMP) and plant safety guidelines

Minimum Education Required

  • Coursework in Microsoft Office Operating system from an accredited college and/or university and

  • 2 year Associates in Engineering

  • or Associates in Diesel Power Technology

  • or 2 years Military Equivalent experience

  • or 8 years of Powertrain Development lab experience
