Position Summary
We have an exciting opportunity within or Maintenance Team for a forward thinking highly motivated individual as a Maintenance Planner, to join our team based at our Confectionery Factory in Halifax. The team's short term and long-term goals include introducing a long-term maintenance strategy and continually developing it. Increasing asset intensity and reducing time stops, working towards being the best maintenance team in the UK.
The Maintenance Planner Role is a specialist role within the engineering management team.
Nestlé Halifax Factory in West Yorkshire is the home of the iconic confectionary brand Quality Street amongst several other well-known brands such as Rolo, Munchies and After Eight. A day in the life of a Maintenance Planner
Manage existing assets - Planned maintenance: Execute the weekly maintenance planning routine including: tasks prioritisation, maintenance shutdowns scheduling in collaboration with production and work orders execution results review.Execute and coordinate with maintenance team review, creation and optimisation of maintenance plans in AMM to improve the quality and effectiveness of maintenance planning system, including facilitating the implementation of 5W&1H (SMPs and Task Lists) for scheduled maintenance.
Coordinate 3rd party maintenance service providers to ensure high quality of service.Has a role of MWG and/or PM pillar member in a TPM factory
Being part of the Continuous improvement process by leading some of the projects/initiatives.
Build Engineering Capability: Responsible to build AMM competencies within Engineering.
Manage existing assets - Budget management: Provide supporting data for maintenance budget planning and tracking. Establish and deploy AMM predefined reports to facilitate review of maintenance indicators.
Manage existing assets - Spare parts management: Coordinate with the Technical Store creation of assets BOM and spare parts ABCZ classification.Participate in slow moving parts review.
To optimise maintenance planning and strategy, ensuring engineering and hygiene compliance, to support in planning routine tasks to improve all performance KPI’s
Provide team input to evolve the planning strategies and maintenance engineering strategies
Support in safety and quality issue resolution
Creating a robust weekly activity plan
Contributing to the upkeep of all relevant technical documentation.
Participating and positively contributing to site initiatives as requested to include HACCP, ISO9002, CDM etc.
Raising purchase orders where required, liaising with the Maintenance Engineers and technicians.
What will make you successful?
You will:
Proven Track Record in a maintenance role Fast Moving Consumer goods (preferable food)
SAP User
Microsoft Share Point
Power BI (or equivalent) – compliance monitoring system
Engineering background (academic or otherwise) Electrical or mechanical
Apprenticeship in engineering (desirable)
Educated to NVQ level 3
Highly motivated
A vision to build a plan
Passion for Engineering solutions
Wants to progress the role with their own insights and ideas
Enthusiasm for Engineering maintenance
