Hamilton Community Schools Preschool Associate Teacher in Hamilton, Michigan

Hamilton Community Schools is seeking an individual to serve as Hawkeye Kids Preschool Associate Teacher. 

*Location:  *Sandyview Learning Center

Reports To:

  • Preschool Lead Teacher, and
  • Preschool and Before & After School Coordinator

Job Description:

  • Work with the Lead Teacher in planning, documenting, and implementing daily schedules and lessons
  • Supervise and support children
  • Develop positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
  • Facilitate/lead small group learning activities
  • Lead and actively participate in large group learning activities
  • Support students in the preschool classroom who require additional support
  • Work with the Lead Teacher on keeping consistent, up-to-date documentation according to the Teaching Strategies Gold curriculum
  • Duties, as assigned by the Lead Teacher and Preschool and Before & After School Coordinator

*Hours: *29 hours per week (additional hours as needed for professional development and meetings)

  • Monday-Thursday 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM

*Hourly Rate: *$14.67/hr.

Start Date: 2024-2025 School Year

*Minimum Qualifications: *

  • Must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Must hold a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or a higher education degree in early childhood education or child development
  • First Aid/CPR certification will be required upon employment
  • Must maintain a positive and professional attitude
  • Experience working with children preferred
  • Have a caring, patient, flexible demeanor
  • Regular, predictable attendance
  • Must have strong communication skills
  • Willing to work outside in various weather conditions
  • Must receive TB testing, background check, and additional onboarding training requirements
