Hamilton City Schools Transportation Non-CDL Van Driver in Hamilton, Ohio
We are looking for reliable School Van Drivers to join our team. As a Van Driver, you will be responsible for transporting students to and from school and extracurricular events, following a scheduled route and ensuring the safety of all passengers.
Your duties will include conducting pre-trip inspections to ensure the van is in good working condition, observing safety and traffic rules during the journey, and maintaining order and discipline among students on the van.
Additionally, you will be expected to communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff, providing excellent customer service and addressing any concerns or issues that may arise.
Overall, your role as a School Van Driver is crucial in providing safe and reliable transportation for students, contributing to their educational experience.
Responsibilities
Transport children to and from school
Obey all traffic laws to ensure students arrive to their destination safely
Maintain a clean and mechanically sound van at all times
Ensure the safety of all students when entering and leaving the van
Assist students with getting on and off the van as needed
Engage with students as they enter and leave the van
Requirements and skills
Good driving record with no at-fault accidents or traffic citations within the last five years
Two or more years of experience working with children preferred
Ability to carry out assigned route on time
Abilty to obtain Ohio Van Driver Certification
