ARAMARK Environmental Services Operating Room Tech- Ct. Children's Staffing Center in Hartford, Connecticut

Job Description

The Environmental Services OR Tech position is designed to ensure cleaning and maintaining of the physical environment of Ct. Children?s perioperative service areas. This position is responsible for performing the cleaning of the surgical department, for receiving and storing supplies and maintaining the operating room suite in a clean and orderly condition.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform between-case cleaning of OR rooms following AORN guidelines.

  • Clean and sanitize offices, patient rooms, procedure rooms, bathrooms, windows, furniture, and other assigned areas.

  • Wash light fixtures, door frames, and spot clean walls using appropriate equipment and solutions.

  • Handle clean linen distribution and soiled linen pickup, including personal linen if applicable.

  • Manage municipal, infectious, and pharmaceutical waste.

  • Adhere to SpaceCare QL Cleaning Program Procedures (mopping, vacuuming, dusting, surface cleaning, special projects).

  • Maintain cleanliness of OR floors, interior walkways, and common areas.

  • Complete scheduled and on-demand tasks timely.

  • Remove trash, recyclables, soiled linen, used supplies, and equipment from work areas; disinfect receptacles and carts as needed.

  • Vacuum carpets and dust surfaces in assigned areas daily.

  • Maintain and clean equipment, work cart, and restock supplies as needed.

  • Submit repair work orders in the hospital?s system.

  • Change mop buckets per Infection Control standards.

  • Assist with patient transport and positioning as needed.

  • Restock linen supplies for all user areas and support services departments.

  • Keep clean and dirty utility rooms organized.

  • Move furniture and objects to ensure adequate cleaning.

  • Mentor new staff members.

  • Perform other assigned duties.

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Vocational/technical training preferred

  • Minimum of one year housekeeping experience in a healthcare/Operating room setting

LICENSE and/or CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR in adult, child & infant is required upon hire and maintained

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
