When hospitals cannot provide the advanced care, expertise and new treatment options their patients require, they turn to us. The Neuro-Surgical ICU is a 17 bed adult in-patient unit caring for critically ill Neurological patients. Our patients have diagnosis of stroke, head or spinal cord trauma and brain hemorrhage. These patients require a staff specialized in intra-cranial and hemo-dynamic monitoring along with the use of vaso-active medications. In this rewarding and exciting specialty, our team is highly motivated and has advanced critical thinking skills. *Job Summary* In Critical Care, our Registered Nurses (RNs) are highly skilled and trained; helping to provide expertise at the bedside and the highest quality care in the most compassionate way. The units heavily rely on a team-based mentality in which all healthcare team members work congruently to achieve the best outcomes based on the Hartford Healthcare values of Safety, Excellence, Integrity and Caring. * Current Connecticut Registered Nurse (RN) License. * Graduate of an accredited nursing school (BSN Required). * BLS certification by the American Heart Association and proof of Arrhythmia Certification required prior to date of hire. * Minimum one year Acute Care RN experience strongly preferred. * In exceptional circumstances, experienced ASN/ADN nurses currently in pursuit of a BSN or MSN may be considered. * Graduate Nurses are encouraged to apply through the Critical Care Graduate Nurse Program.
