Position Summary:

The IT Operations Specialist ensures the smooth and efficient operation of our in-house computer hardware, software, network, and communication systems. With a focus on reliability and functionality, this role plays a crucial part in maintaining the technology infrastructure that supports both a distribtuions facility and administrative operations.

As an IT Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for various tasks including the installation, configuration, development, maintenance, and documentation of our in-house computer software, databases, and reporting systems. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring that these systems are running optimally and meeting the needs of our organization.

Additionally, you will play a key role in the implementation of new and enhanced software and hardware solutions as directed by our corporate team. Your technical skills and attention to detail will be essential in successfully integrating these technologies into our existing infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of the production process within the factory and its relationship with the underlying IT systems.

  • Ensure the reliability and continuous improvement of factory floor solutions to effectively support the manufacturing and distribution operation's goals and objectives.

  • Install, configure, performance tune, administer, and troubleshoot all in-house computer hardware, software, databases, networks, communication, and multimedia systems.

  • Provide support to the factory in areas such as company data backup, disaster recovery, software licensing, compliance, security, and authorization policies.

  • Offer technical assistance for existing factory computer hardware, factory floor data collection systems, and business information systems.

  • Collaborate with factory personnel at all levels, providing guidance and direction on the appropriate processes to resolve internal factory requests related to IT/OT systems.

  • Support the coordination, collaboration, and communication with key stakeholders regarding IT solution issues or outages that may impact production processes until resolution is achieved.

  • Analyze, develop, document, and maintain necessary in-house information and data collection systems.

  • Provide on-demand technical support during off-hours, aligning with the factory's off-hours support requirements.

  • Collaborate with the Factory Leadership Team and local engineers to plan and coordinate the local implementation of new and enhanced factory software.

  • Continuously develop and maintain technological skill sets relevant to the operation of plant computer systems.

  • Embrace and promote Agile ways of working to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • Minimum of a 2-year technical degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Computer Technology, or equivalent experience, and 3+ years of related work experience or or a minimum of 5+ years of related experience in lieu of degree.

  • High school diploma required

Proficiency in three (3) or more of the following areas:

  • Various personal computer (laptops) and peripheral hardware (printers, copiers, scanners, smartboards, tablets/iPads, etc.).

  • Local Area Network (LAN) operations, including Cisco IOS, switches, cables, routers, and access points.

  • Windows operating systems (Servers / PCs).

  • Familiarity with office and business information technology (Microsoft Office 365).

  • Familiarity with database design and query.

  • Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), SCADA, and/or PLCs.

  • Infrastructure Automation, PowerShell, and Cloud Computing
