Summary About the Position: Sierra Army Depot is located in Herlong CA, a rural town in Northern California. Herlong is approximately 60 miles north of Reno, NV, and 35 miles south of Susanville, CA. The depot serves as an Army Expeditionary Logistical Support Center. Employees work Mon-Thurs, 0630-1700 hrs. Youth Facilities and childcare available. Mass transportation is available at minimal cost. Surrounding area boasts a full range of outdoor sports/recreation activities. Responsibilities Develop long range plans for the traffic management program. Assess day-to-day operations to measure efficiency of the Traffic Management Program. Develop traffic management procedures for all personnel. Analyze bid proposals to verify compliance with Federal and State laws. Evaluate transportation information for the command. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) analyzing transportation bids to award of contracts; 2) resolving traffic management problems for the organization; and 3) evaluating transportation laws and regulations to provide accurate recommendations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Data Analysis and Decision Making Physical Distribution / Transportation Operations Technical Competence Transportation Policy and Regulation Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
