SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Under general direction from the BI Data Integration Team Lead or Manager IT Data Management, this developer role is responsible for providing technical leadership to the integration team and recommend improvements to the data integration architecture. Responsible in building the functions necessary to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data and metadata to transactional systems in real time (HL7) or batch methodology and for data warehousing environments. Provide troubleshooting and incident support for existing scripts and execute problem management to maintain high availability of integration services.
ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS:
Work with other Enterprise Information Management (EIM) and Information Technology (IT) teams to ensure the effective and integrated delivery of services to EIM's and IT's customers.
Have a deep understanding of SQL and RDBMS concepts; Mapping data sources to target content storage models, working with legacy databases to implement data access or ETL;
Data Warehouse integration with sources systems and business process to provide accurate, meaningful information for decision making to the enterprise;
Develop interfaces for transactional system in real time (HL7) or batch methodology to provide tight integration between systems with high reliability for the enterprise infrastructure;
Troubleshoot issues with data quality, business intelligence applications, and performance; Knowledge and implementation of API’s for delivering the solutions/services.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree plus 6 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Experience with Informatica Tool Kit, IBM DataStage, Rhapsody, Open Engine, McKesson HPM or similar enterprise business intelligence applications.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Possess an expert working knowledge of the multiple interface/integration applications at Penn State Health with a focus on the Rhapsody Interface Engine and Cerner FSI integrations.
Lead large departmental projects or multiple smaller projects according to a defined project management process. Analyze user business needs, document requirements, and translate them into appropriate system requirement specifications for the selection of commercial applications and/or the creation of custom interfaces.
Extensive experience with developing and maintaining system interfaces with focus on supporting back-end processes for financial, clinical and other applications.
Experience in working with multiple integration vendors.
Expert knowledge of various integration and interface types (HL7, HTTPS, sFTP, FHIR, etc.)
10+ years of JavaScript experience.
Effectively collaborate and communicate with IS staff, clinicians, other support teams and end users at all levels of the organization.
Ability to lead interface development with vendors on maintaining software and hardware, trouble-shooting issues, and planning for upgrades, patches, etc.
Ability to develop effective support procedures and create user and technical documentation.
Assist with projects in order to implement/change/enhance applications that integrate with electronic health record.

Knowledge of designing, developing, and maintaining databases in a complex business environment.
Understanding of business requirements gathering and systems analysis.
