IHG Business Development Manager in Hobart, Australia

The Sales and Marketing team is integral to business success, and our current BDM has secured a fantastic 12 month opportunity within IHG to pursue professional growth. That leaves a great opportunity open for a confident, self-motivated, well connected and personable colleague to join the team for a 12-month, fixed term contract. Your day to day

  • Selling to existing customers (20-30%) and to new customers (70-80%) by gathering information, conducting business qualification, attending networking events, client entertaining, sales calls, tele-marketing, familiarisation and site inspections, and interstate sales trips. Predominantly looking after local LNR (Locally Negotiated Rate) accounts.

  • Strengthening existing corporate relationships

  • Achieve budgeted revenues and personal sales goals in a way that maximises profitability; paying attention to forecast revenue shortfalls for managed market segments

  • Monitoring competitor practices and accounts, monthly RGI score cards and diagnostic tolls in order to understand competitor trends

  • Producing monthly reports and sales forecasts to analyse current/potential market and sales trends, coordinating activities to increase revenue and market share and monitor performance to ensure actual sales meet or exceed established revenue plan

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree / equivalent in Commerce or Business preferred

  • Minimum 2 years of demonstrated experience in Sales or Business Development

  • Understanding of Hotel systems and revenue management principles an advantage

  • Strong presentation, commercial and communication skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge of sales principles and techniques

  • Committed team player, that loves challenges and driven by outcomes

  • Experience and knowledge on Salesforce (Delphi.fdc) and Opera PMS will be a bonus
