Title: Specialist II, Communications (Corporate Culture/HR)

Reports to: Manager, Corporate Culture

Location: Holland, MI

Summary:

As a HR Specialist II, you will focus on internal communications and fostering a positive, highly effective work environment. This position will coordinate the communication, events, and activities related to employee relations and human resources.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic guidance on communications across the company

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for communicating on behalf of the organization that represents the corporate identity, and promotes and supports the organization’s mission

  • Write, design, and distribute internal communications, events and program materials, including newsletters, team updates, Facebook, etc. for the purpose of communicating essential information to employees

  • Develop content for special communications projects; present and promote these projects to management

  • Refine core messaging to ensure organizational consistency in all internal communications that are shared with employees

  • Respond to employee questions after communications are sent out

  • Serve as the voice of the President

  • Communicate with executive leadership team and serve as their voice if needed

  • Prepare and deliver presentations in the company to share information

  • Communicate with Headquarters HQ in Korea, serving as a liaison between HQ and local offices

  • Represent the company in a variety of settings, always promoting the company in the best possible way

  • Seek new methods and creative strategies to increase internal and external awareness of key events and changes in the organization including special events, local and global community service, and other topics of interest

  • Support the Corporate Culture team with employee relations activities such as employee committees, and coordinating employee events and activities including summer and holiday parties

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Human Resources, Public Relations or related field

    Experience:

  • 3 to 6+ years of communications or employee relations experience

  • Superlative communication skills in all forms

  • Ability to use good judgment and discretion with highly confidential business and team member information

  • Positive attitude and demonstrated effectiveness in accomplishing goals

  • Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment

  • Excellent strategic organization skills

  • Ability to think creatively

  • Ability to use tact and professionalism including in times of extreme stress
