DESCRIPTION OF WORK The role entails conducting a diverse range of technical tasks to inspect materials and workmanship on highway construction projects, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and specified standards. Responsibilities include overseeing various stages of highway construction work, such as verifying grades, elevations, and the layout of roadways and basic structures. Additionally, the position involves performing calculations to assess material consistency, creating sketches, documenting field plan modifications, and keeping detailed records of inspections, progress, and quality control measures related to the ongoing project. Furthermore, the individual will provide support with administrative tasks in the project office to contribute to the overall success of the construction endeavor.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time, seasonal employment, 37.5-hour work week Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday to Friday with a 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time based on project assignments. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Hollidaysburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year of experience in highway or bridge surveying, design, construction, or inspection work; or One year of experience in quality control of materials or building or construction industry experience, which includes reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, or schematics; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
