Queen's Health System Heavy Cleaner - Housekeeping Manamana (Call-In, Varied Shifts) in Honolulu, Hawaii
RESPONSIBILITIES
I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Moves furniture, equipment, and supplies in and around the department/hospital.
• Picks up biohazard/hospital trash and soiled linen.
• Performs a variety of housekeeping duties to maintain the Medical Center in an orderly and sanitary condition.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Continuous: pushing and pulling up to 20 psi, seeing, hearing, standing, walking, bending, stooping, forward and overhead reaching, grasping.
• Frequent: pushing and pulling 25 to 60 psi; lifting floor to knuckle, knuckle to shoulder 40 lbs.; shoulder to overhead 20 lbs., talking, squatting, twisting, handling, fingering, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods.
• Occasional: pushing and pulling up to 110 psi, lifting floor to knuckle 75+ lbs., knuckle to shoulder 40 lbs., shoulder to overhead 20-25 lbs., sitting, running, climbing ladder and stair, side bending, crawling, kneeling, crouching.
• Operates hand trucks, vacuum cleaners, mops, carts, wagons, dollies, carpet extractor, ladder scrubbing machine, stripping machine, waxing machine, mop handles, mop wringer.
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
• Exposed to both inside and outside environmental conditions.
• May have some exposure to hazardous chemicals and materials, communicable diseases, and body fluids.
• Work involves performing duties in a small, confined space, ability to negotiates stairs, ramps, and walking uneven ground, and performing tasks sometimes in wet/slippery and hazardous conditions.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
• High School diploma preferred.
B. EXPERIENCE:
• Experience as Housekeeping Aide preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to speak, read, write and understand English.
