Hawaiian Host LLC Quality Assurance Assistant in Honolulu, Hawaii

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the guidance of the Senior Quality Assurance (QA) Manager and reporting directly to the QA Supervisor, this role monitors safety and quality programs, trains staff, and ensures the integrity of produced confectionery products.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- - Enters data pertaining to information related to quality monitoring, including but not limited to, quality deficiency, temperature logger reports, retention samples, and sanitation/product quality control reports. - Maintains data and records of quality assurance management system, including but not limited to, quality deficiency, metal detector, check- weigher accuracy, packaging integrity, incoming goods, temperature loggers and retention samples. - Performs process checks throughout production, warehouse, and sanitation functions of the company, including pre-operational checks, sanitation verification, incoming goods, packaging material checks (including but not limited to receiving, in line package integrity checks, metal detector, x-ray, chocolate-nut ratio and organoleptic checks (includes but not limited to nuts, chocolate, packaging materials, etc.). - Performs and assists with lab duties, including but not limited to, DPC (daily product cutting), thermometer calibrations, micro, swab testing and evaluation of damaged products. - Assists in training employees on food safety, company processes, and FDA based Good Manufacturing Practices. - Regular attendance is required for the position.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

- - May assist in other QA or food safety projects or issues as needed. - Performs all duties and maintains all standards in accordance with company policies and procedures as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

- - High School Diploma or GED with some college level education in food science or equivalent experience. - A minimum of six (6) months of related experience in a food processing facility. - Good written, verbal, and interpersonal skills. - Computer literate in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook. - Ability to work a flexible schedule (i.e., night/day shift) and weekends, as needed.
