Due to the promotion of our current FP&A Manager, we are looking for a versatile, hands-on, and accurate finance professional to join our Finance team!

Your role at AbbVie

As the FP&A Manager, you will lead and own the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) cycles within the Netherlands Commercial affiliate. In this role, you are responsible for the planning, consolidation, validation, tracking, and challenging of all input required for the various FP&A cycles.

Your main responsibilities include designing, improving, and maintaining the local infrastructure for FP&A systems and reports. As the overall FP&A process owner, you will plan all P&L elements and manage detailed headcount planning. To deepen your business understanding, you will partner with the brand’s business unit management, providing proactive support including financial modeling, expense forecasting, and brand-specific reports. You will act as the Finance business partner for several departments, monitoring and advising on departmental expense planning.

You will engage daily with the Finance Director, Controller, Commercial Directors, and Finance Brand Managers, as well as other key internal stakeholders such as the Region Finance team, General Manager, and Medical Director.

Job Description

  • Owner of financial planning and analysis processes

  • Lead the financial planning & reporting processes (LRP, Plan, LBE), including the design of templates and processes.

  • Analyze performance (tracking revenue & expenses regularly) and provide variance explanations and recommendations for operational improvements.

  • Coordinate and manage S&OP process, collecting input from various business units, and preparing overall slides.

  • Owner of financial planning systems

  • Lead improvement projects related to financial systems and processes, especially new planning and reporting systems for sales, cost of sales, expenses, and detailed reporting.

  • Consolidate financial data and manage data loads into regional/global financial and demand planning systems such as TM1, BPC.

  • Own local reports (Excel, Power BI, etc.) used across various business units.

  • Business partner for certain brands

  • Take full ownership from a finance perspective, including financial planning in close cooperation with business unit management, product-specific reports, and other proactive and requested analyses based on in-market data.

Qualifications

  • Master Degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in FP&A and 5 years in the in Finance roles

  • Proven experience with financial modeling: translating business cases and scenarios into financial modeling, top to bottom P&L line;

  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Power BI, MS PowerPoint, experience with SAP/other ERP systems.

  • Experience in a matrix organization and regulated environment (such as FMCG, automotive, banking FP&A, etc); experience in Pharma specialty / biotech company is a plus;

  • Track record of using initiative, drive and questioning to improve the performance of professional teams. Ability to drive high-level agenda with minimal supervision.

  • Excellent communication skills and able to build effective working relations with both the commercial as well as finance colleagues, locally and internationally

  • Ability to prioritize and work to tight deadlines;

  • Fluent in English; knowledge of the Dutch language would be a plus;
