PRINCIPAL PURPOSE OF JOB:

Helps maintain lawns, shrubs, flowers and trees. Trims, prunes and mows as required. Maintains outdoor furniture and equipment, repairs both building and grounds. Keeps equipment and tools in good repair. Routinely makes repairs modifications and adjustments to building, inclusive of light construction. Removal of plant waste, maintains building cleanliness and executes weekly PM tasks in the extrusion area.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This work is performed in doors with out climate control, the work environment consistently exposes workers to dust?s grease, oil and other industrial compounds in addition to rotating equipment and stored energy sources.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Uses power and hand mowers/clippers to cut lawns and shrubs
  2. Maintains trees using pruning shears and pruning saws
  3. Uses power tools and equipment, including lawn sweeper, sprayer, pneumatic tools, automatic sprinkler, salt spreader, verifier, rotor-tiller, trencher, backhoe and loader tractor
  4. Uses hand tools such as shovel, rake, hoe, broom, pick, post hole digger and wheelbarrow
  5. Works from verbal instructions, work orders, schedules and blueprints
  6. Must maintain good attendance in accordance to the company policy.

ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Perform other duties assigned by supervisor
  2. May be temporarily re-assigned to perform the duties of training new associates and/or responsibilities of other positions including those outside assigned department. The re-assignment will be at the discretion of the supervisor and/or management
  3. May be required to work on other craft areas of the maintenance dept.
  4. Must be able to start, stop and operate all equipment
  5. Work on ladders, scaffolds and pits
