Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Houston, Texas
Description We are in the transport industry, based in Houston, Texas, and are seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team. This role primarily involves managing accounts payable tasks within a truck repair shop setting.
Responsibilities:
• Match, batch, and code invoices in a high-volume environment
• Resolve discrepancies through research and reconciliation
• Adjust prices and purchase orders as necessary
• Process payments through check or Automated Clearing House (ACH)
• Export data into Excel for further analysis
• Utilize Excel formulas to streamline and automate processes
• Utilize skills in Accounts Payable (AP), 3 Way Matching, Account Reconciliation, and Account Discrepancies to ensure accuracy and efficiency in all tasks
• Adhere to all industry-specific regulations and standards
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure all payments are done in a timely manner
• Communicate with vendors and suppliers as needed regarding payment issues or discrepancies Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an Accounts Payable role
• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) procedures and systems
• Demonstrated experience in 3 Way Matching processes
• Proven ability in Account Reconciliation
• Experience in identifying and resolving Account Discrepancies
• Proficiency in Excel Formulas for financial calculations
• Knowledge of transport industry accounting practices would be advantageous
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all work
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
