Supervises personnel engaged in transportation engineering work in one or more functional areas such as planning, design, construction, transportation/traffic operations, maintenance and bridge inspection. Ensures compliance with applicable federal and state laws, policies, procedures, standards and guidelines. Work requires contact with governmental officials, private entities and contractors. Employees at this level are virtually self-supervising and assume direct accountability for the work product.Essential Duties:Assists in providing recommendations to the Motor Carrier Division for routing of overload vehicles.Coordinates with utility companies, attorneys and governmental representatives to accurately depict the highway project's impact on adjacent properties.Establishes, modifies or interprets applicable standards, rules, methods, procedures, practices and policies.Interprets the Utility Accommodation Policy, reviews utility billing documentsMakes presentations and represents TxDOT.Prepares correspondence and reports.Represents the Department at meetings, conferences and related activities.Responsible for utility and driveway permitsReviews contracts and related documents for executionServes as liaison with local officials and the public concerning proposed project development and planning.Supervises professional and administrative staff.Performs other job responsibilities as assigned
