nVent Manufacturing Engineer in Houston, Texas

In this role, you will lead manufacturing for custom metal and electrical products. With a focus on products made from flat sheet metal. Providing customers with a variety of standard and customized product offerings. Working closely with direct production and warehouse teams to deliver on production targets.

This role will sit in our Pasadena, TX office.

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

  • Support Sales and Project teams with manufacturing requests. Such as custom part modifications, technical support, and custom costing.

  • Lead manufacturing by determining methods, processes, and equipment required in the manufacturing and assembly of metal fabricated components

  • Develop work instructions, drawings, tests, modification, assembly process, fixtures and processes for niche manufacturing.

  • Prepare and maintain manufacturing Routings and BOMs in SAP for production.

  • Handle the Material Replenishment Process (MRP) for all manufacturing items to help ensure that items are being produced in a timely manner that serves customer needs.

  • Material planning for custom manufacturing projects. BOM determination and calculation of material & labor manhour quantities.

  • Find opportunities and assist projects to improve efficiency, reduce costs, improve quality and achieve on time delivery to meet production needs.

  • Developing, analyzing and documenting cost information for new product development, customized part solutions, design and cost improvement, maintenance, make vs. buy, and managing product cost to target

  • To ensure that all safety rules and programs are followed and maintained within the assigned area of responsibility

  • Carry out CAD related activities per design / project requirements.\

YOU HAVE:

  • Academic background in Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering is a must

  • Previous experience in or with 1+ years of meaningful experience in a manufacturing environment. Recent college grad considered.

  • SAP Production and Scheduling is a plus

  • CNC programming of parts on CNC benders, press brakes, laser cutters is a plus

  • Abilities to meet the physical and environmental demands:

  • Warehouse/production environment as required
