Universal Engineering Sciences Staff Geologist in Houston, Texas

InControl Technologies, a UES company, is seeking a highly motivated Geologist with 1-3 years of experience in environmental soil and groundwater investigations and report writing. The position is based out of our office in north Houston. This position’s responsibilities combine in-office task management duties and field work, with the opportunity for growth into a project management role.

The responsibilities of this job include, but are not limited to:

· Conducting field activities associated with soil/groundwater investigation and remediation projects

· Performing environmental investigations, collecting environmental data, and assisting with initial environmental site assessments and investigations

· Assisting Senior Geologists in project execution

· Planning and managing soil and groundwater investigations

· Reviewing, tabulating, and interpreting field data

· Writing technical reports

Education and Training:

Minimum of a B.S. in Geology or related sciences is required

One (1) to five (5) years of experience in environmental consulting

Experience writing technical reports

Geoscientist-In-Training (GIT) license is required

Professional Geoscientist (PG) license is preferred

40hr OSHA HAZWOPER training, or equivalent, preferred but not required

Required Skills, Abilities, and Physical Requirements:

Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

Valid driver’s license to operate a vehicle in the US and a clean driving record

Ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds

Willingness and ability to travel and work in various outdoor site conditions and project locations (up to 50-75% field work, could include limited overnight travel)

Ability to pass a workplace physical, drug screening, and background check

Ability to communicate effectively with contractors, clients, potential clients, company personnel, and regulatory personnel

Strong communication and technical writing skills
