Conagra Manager Production & Maintenance in Humboldt, Tennessee

Conagra Brands in Humboldt, Tennessee, is looking for a Production & Maintenance Manager to join a team of 60 employees making ice cream toppings, fruit fillings and salsa for consumers across the world. Reporting to The Plant Manager onsite at our Humboldt Plant, you will join a high-performing team that has a long tenure at the plant and is looking for a leader to continue their growth. We are well-known within the community for our partnerships with schools, community events (Strawberry Festival) and more.

What Impact Will You Have on our Business?

  • You will direct plant personnel and provide direction in operations area to produce the best quality product possible, at the least cost standards.

  • Coordinate the availability of raw materials; ensure the functioning of production machinery is adequate to meet production demands.

  • Develop, trains and schedules necessary personnel to meet all production demands.

  • Partner with HR for personnel issues, including interviews, hiring, evaluations, corrective counseling, and further training.

  • Provide leadership to plant maintenance department while providing oversight for maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment.

  • Eliminate all causes of failure and ensure full useful life with daily maintenance completed by operating personnel.

  • Schedule maintenance, and installation to ensure production operations while managing the maintenance and storeroom budgets.

  • You will review production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities.

  • Monitor correct ingredient usage at plant standards while maintaining quality goals.

  • Promote continuous improvement in production process to improve safety, cost effectiveness, and product quality.

  • Responsible for plant maintenance including facilities, utilities and operations to reduce downtime and assure peak plant efficiencies. Will direct capital engineering design and projects to completion and work with appropriate vendors.

  • Promote safety throughout the entire maintenance organization.

  • Prepare and operate within established maintenance operating budget and monitor departmental expenditures.

  • Help with planning and cost estimates for annual and longer term capital budgets.

  • Implement the capital plan to include all engineering design and project management, working with both internal and external resources.

  • Be acquainted with local/state/federal environmental regulations and ensure compliance with all operational permits, OSHA regulations and corporate policies.

  • Oversee the completion of work through review of reports, frequent site inspections and conferences with operations and vendors regarding electrical and plumbing equipment, HVAC systems, electric motors, ventilating fans, air conditioning and electrical control units.

Do You Have What it Takes?

  • B. S. degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Biology, Industrial Management, or related field

  • 4+ years of experience in the food industry

  • Combination of education and experience in lieu of educational requirements

  • 3+ years supervisory experience

  • Previous experience using CAD & MS Suite

  • 1+ years of SAP Experience

  • Experience managing the construction of large projects including facilities administration and the ability to manage personnel.
