We are looking to immediately hirean Information and Data Management Specialist in supportof our MIPSS program located at Marshall Space Flight Center!

General Summary:

Mid-level Information and Data Management professional with demonstrated skills in functionalities involving metadata management, access controls and management, and information systems development/management at NASA/Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) in support of the NASA Technical Standards Program (NTSP). Additionally, position requires managing and tracking user accesses and permissions for enterprise licenses across the Agency. A key component of this position is effective interpersonal skills, attention to detail, self-starter who is able to work independently and flexibility to manage multiple tasks. The position requires full-time, on-site presence at MSFC.

Job Specifications:

  • Bachelor's degreeor equivalent related experience required.
  • 10-15 years of applicable experience in Information/Data Management is required.
  • Working knowledge of databases, content management systems, and product lifecycle management systems is required.
  • Proficiency in SharePoint and the Microsoft Office Suite is highly desired.
  • Experience with Liferay or SharePoint Portal development highly desired.
  • Experience with handling sensitive data is desired.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to produce professional correspondence and documentation for internal processes and procedures.
  • Ability to obtain clearance/access onsite at NASA MSFC required.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Interface with personnel across the Agency as the Administrator for the NASA Technical Standards System (NTSS), providing support to NASA users and content managers from all NASA Centers.
  • Support the NTSP Manager at MSFC with process implementation and improvements.
  • Provide technical support to internal teams through the ability to analyze, debug, and solve complex technical problems across multiple technical disciplines.
  • Communicate with external customers and internal teams by actively listening to user problems and conveying commitment toward finding a timely resolution of the issue.
  • Develop quality training materials and documents to effectively train and coach users and administrators.
  • Serve as primary interface with the NTSS third party vendor, IHS Markit, to coordinate document purchases, usage reports, and troubleshooting user issues.
  • Support NTSP technical working groups to ensure delivery of timely quality standards products by participating in various working group discussions and providing technical writing support.
  • Serve as Administrator for the NASA Engineering Standards Portal SharePoint site by granting access and managing data in support of NTSP document reviews and approvals.
