Battelle Energy Alliance dba Idaho National Laboratory Site Facility Operations Manager in Idaho Falls, Idaho

Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Site Facility Operations Manager to work on our Facility Management and HES team. This position will report to the Site Operations Department Manager. Our team works a 4x10 schedule located onsite at our Central Facilities Area, located approximately one hour from Idaho Falls.

The Site Facilities Operations Manager (FOM) provides leadership to the Facility Managers (FMs) within the Operations, Maintenance, and Support organization at the Central Facilities Area. The FOM also provides direction over Central Facilities Area and Sitewide utilities, including the potable water system, wastewater system, deep wells, and other utilities critical to ongoing operations. As Central Facilities Area enters a period of growth, the FOM fulfills a critical role in ensuring safe conduct of operations during high-complexity projects while supporting day-to-day maintenance and support tasks for facility tenants and on-going research work.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage activities of a broad functional area of exempt Facility Managers. Provide direction to employees according to established policies and management guidance.
  • Responsible for developing and administering budgets, schedules, and performance standards for the organizational unit. Take actions to monitor and manage costs related to a section.
  • Develop and manage routine operational plans.
  • Receive assignments based on incremental objectives and defined processes.
  • Participate in the development of overall objectives and long-term goals of the business unit.
  • Provide oversight for lockout/tagout usage, procedure usage, and job safety performance.
  • Ensure Facility Managers are actively engaged in work happening in their area of responsibility. This includes being conversant in construction and maintenance schedules, ensuring employees or contractors who request work release have a clear understanding of their roles and responsibilities in the work, verifying pre-job briefs are complete and all required documentation (i.e. excavation permits) are on-hand prior to work start, and identifying unrecognized areas of concern.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the PM program by quantitatively identifying impact failures while establishing and maintaining an exceedingly high degree of interaction with tenants and programmatic customers through problem resolution efforts.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and 8 years of experience OR Master's degree and 6 years of experience OR 14 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • 5 years of supervisory or managerial experience in commercial, industrial, and/or governmental construction
  • Demonstrated strong conduct of operations background.
  • Extensive experience in hazardous energy controls (lockout/tagout program)
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "Q" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.

Job Information:

  • The target pay range for this position is $100,540 - 155,973 annually. The full pay range is $89,652 - 215,160. At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
