Drive your career forward, with this opportunity as a Compliance Specialist located in Indianapolis, Indiana.

  • Working with cross-functional team members to develop a plan to verify and monitor compliance with key global regulatory requirements

  • Acting as one of the two required IMDS and CDX administrators which includes creating, approving, accepting, and sending material data sheets (MDS); Requires working hand-in-hand with Materials Engineering and having technical skills for assessing

  • Performing internal quality and regulatory compliance audits, evaluate and monitor corrective actions

  • Attending and supporting third-party audits, compliance tests, regulatory training, and any other requests

  • Contributing to the development and maintenance of regulatory procedures to ensure consistent, efficient, and compliant regulatory processes

  • Generate Part Submission Warrants (PSW) with supporting documentation for Customer Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) requests

  • Owning and managing the "Standard Responses" process to address common OEM regulatory inquiries, requests for conformance certificates, etc.

  • Participating as a member of the Regulatory Planning Team and, as necessary, representing regulatory Opportunity Scenario's (OS's) in Product Line Team (PLT) meetings and supporting report-outs to Executive Leadership

  • Investigating and recommending resolutions to regulatory compliance gaps or issues

  • Compiling data and producing reports and metrics for various compliance and internal reporting. Working with internal stakeholders to build Power Apps for advanced analysis of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)

  • Collecting and analyzing quality and regulatory data to provide trend analysis, benchmarks, or other analytical purposes. Creating related reports for leadership for use in decision making and strategic planning

  • Maintaining data and files for future reference, particularly in the event of an audit by a regulatory agency

  • Acting as the SECO (Sub-Export Compliance Officer) for Central Quality

  • Providing support on ad hoc initiatives, as necessary

  • Participating as a member of the SAP COE and pre-COE meetings as needed, to communicate issues with the SAP-EHSM system

  • Maintaining and promoting the company-wide regulatory product compliance policy

  • Reviewing regulation involved in launches and engineering changes for compliance risk and developing the required compliance test plan

  • Ensuring third-party certifications, product listings, and compliance data are complete and accurate

  • Monitoring and communicating cross-functionally on new and existing performance standards and regulatory changes

  • Participating in regulatory and compliance development organizations internally and externally to the company

  • Signatory for compliance agreement documentation for OEMs

Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with relevant coursework in Engineering, Political Science, or Communications preferred

  • 3+ years of experience in transportation related industry or government affairs

  • 7+ years of experience in transportation related industry or government affairs preferred

  • 3+ years of experience performing or managing regulatory compliance or quality audits preferred

  • Maintain a solid understanding of regulations that impact Allison Transmission products and processes

  • Ability to comprehend highly complex information and articulate in a simple, understandable manner

  • Experience using data to communicate recommendations to technical and non-technical partners

  • Ability to handle multiple projects, lead with confidence and integrate with various business functions

  • Critical thinking and problem solving, including knowledge of problem-solving techniques (e.g., PDCA, 8D, 5-Why's, SWOT, etc.)

  • Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills

  • Able to influence and collaborate with other functions including Engineering, Quality, Operations, Purchasing, MS&S, Customer Integration Engineering, Legal and IS&S to identify and mitigate compliance risk

  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Power Apps, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
