Infinite Electronics International, Inc Tax Analyst in Irvine, California

Position Description:

the Tax Analyst will assist in various areas of the company’s taxation functions. This person will be responsible for aiding in keeping all its business entities compliant with various state and local tax jurisdictions, in the U.S. and Internationally.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists with the tax compliance-reporting and filings for the legal entities: ensure timely and accurate filing of all sales and use, VAT, GST, etc. returns.

  • Prepares tax workpapers and handles information requests related to state income tax, sales/use, and property tax.

  • Proactively monitor legislative changes and assist in analyzing potential impact on the company.

  • Assist in responding to IRS and state agency audits, inquiries, and tax notices.

  • Implements best practices and tools to maximize the efficiency of the tax compliance function-e.g. automation.

  • Provide research and analysis on specific tax issues, as necessary.

  • Supervise the tax coordinator to ensure the reporting for business licensing and corporate filings are accurate and timely.

  • Review and maintain an up-to-date Tax Calendar incorporating all taxation and regulatory filing requirements prepared by the tax coordinator.

  • Active participant in cross-functional teams on special projects and initiatives.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience.

  • Previous experience in a corporate tax department or public accounting is a plus.

  • Experience with multi-state and local income tax concepts.

  • Experience conducting general tax research.

  • Detail oriented, accurate and well-organized individual with ability to multi-task.

  • Team player with strong work ethic, flexibility in approach, and supportive to team members.

  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills and experience with large data set

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, financial modeling, accounting, and communication skills (both oral and written).

  • Experience with Power BI, Alteryx is a plus.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Minimum of one to three years as a tax analyst working with multi-state and local income tax concepts.

Reports To: Director of Tax

Physical Job Requirements:

  • Sitting: Must be able to sit for a minimum of 2 hours

  • Walking: Throughout the facility on a continuous basis

  • Lifting/Carrying: Must be able to lift 20 lbs.

  • Climbing: Must be able to climb stairs and ladders.

  • Vision: Corrected 20/20 vision required

  • Talking/Hearing: Must be able to communicate on the telephone.

Environment: Work environment is typically an office environment located on-site during normal or extended business hours.
