We have an exciting opportunity at Caterpillar for an Enterprise Executive Protection Manager to lead the development and management of the enterprise Executive Protection Program, the physical security of the corporate headquarters and the remote corporate aviation facility.

What You Will Do:

  • Direct the development and implementation of all security policies, standards, guidelines, and programs associated with the Caterpillar Executive Protection Program.

  • Leadership of cross-functional experts with accountability to reduce risk and safeguard Caterpillar Executives worldwide.

  • Direct 24/7 operations proactively focused to receive, process, mitigate, and respond to enterprise risk impacting 40+ Caterpillar Executives, including the Caterpillar Chairman/Chief Executive Officer and Board of Directors.

  • Respond to and actively develop risk mitigation solutions to senior leadership and business units.

  • Manage all Executive Protection administrative requirements to include billing, invoicing, performance metrics, and required enterprise reporting.

What You Have:

  • Risk Management: Knowledge of processes, tools and techniques for assessing and controlling an organization's exposure to risks of various kinds; ability to apply knowledge of risk management appropriately to diverse situations.

  • Security Management: Knowledge of information, employees, and premises security processes and procedures; ability to develop and maintain appropriate security levels.

  • Planning: Tactical and Strategic: Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.

  • Communicating Complex Concepts: Knowledge of effective presentation tools and techniques to ensure clear understanding; ability to use summarization and simplification techniques to explain complex technical concepts in simple, clear language appropriate to the audience.

  • Standard Operating Procedures: Knowledge of established standard operating procedures (SOP); ability to design, implement and evaluate standard operating procedures affecting daily and strategic business operations in order to increase operational efficiency.

  • Crisis Management: Knowledge of crisis management concepts and techniques; ability to predict, avert, mitigate, and recover from an event that has or could have a severely negative impact on the business.

  • Executive Presence and Eminence: Knowledge of the concepts, key steps, and characteristics of executive presence and eminence; ability to inspire a strong sense of poise, confidence, and decisiveness among peers, subordinates, and leaders.

  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Experienced executive-level leadership in complex global security related operations.

  • Demonstrated ability to provide clear, concise, and strategic level verbal briefings and professionally written reports/plans to effectively inform leaders at executive office level.

  • Demonstrated emotional intelligence, thought leadership, and initiative to develop, plan, and execute global security strategies.

  • 15+ years of Federal, State, Department of Defense law enforcement experience in a fast pace and complex environment.

  • 15+ years’ experience in global matters involving executive protection, criminal, terrorism, counterintelligence, and cyber-crime matters.

  • 10+ years of senior management experience with high level liaison with US Government, foreign government, and associated security agencies.

  • 10+ years of high-level budget ($4M+) management experience.
