TITLE:

Member Program Marketing Specialist

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:

Manager, Member Program Marketing

BASIC FUNCTION:

Provide project coordination and support for all activities related to the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Enterprise Membership Programs and Member Advantage Programs, including program launch; implementation of marketing initiatives; and the development, implementation, and analysis of new business strategies to strengthen the value of AAP membership and drive new program revenue growth.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assist with analyzing data and developing new business strategies with Member Advantage Programs to further define program benefits, financial support, and appropriate business models.

  2. Manage AAP logo use and handle data requests to ensure quality and targeted direct mail/email efforts.

  3. Facilitate program discussions and promote business opportunities across other areas of the AAP, including promoting AAP marketing and sponsorship opportunities.

  4. Work with Member Advantage Programs participants to establish KPIs and continually analyze member usage reports from all member programs and KPIs to identify ways to improve and increase member engagement with the programs to grow revenue.

  5. Assist with Member Advantage Programs program and Enterprise Membership budgets, including tracking expenses, reporting on variances, and completing budget analysis as needed.

  6. Provide support to the activities and actions of the AAP Insurance Program Trust, its Officers, and Trustees in collaboration with the Program Administrator, including scheduling meetings, creating agendas, recording/writing minutes, and identifying and completing action.

  7. Initiate communication with Trustees, report on program status, plan meetings of the Trust, and record minutes.

  8. Provide guidance and information to vendors on promotional opportunities at AAP meetings. Create Member Advantage Program marketing calendar for all programs, coordinate approvals of all marketing efforts, create and send emails through MagnetMail, work with member marketing team to create/update member advantage program print needs, and ensure Member Advantage Program pages on aap.org are up to date. Create recruitment and retention collateral for Chapters, as needed.

  9. Deliver communications to Enterprise members, including through the website, collaboration site, and emails.

  10. Collaborate with appropriate staff to develop plans and processes for optimal chapter and enterprise marketing support.

  11. Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing or related discipline or an equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience required.

EXPERIENCE:

At least two years’ related experience in project coordination/management required, including analyzing and reporting on data, establishing and cultivating business partnerships, and maintaining/tracking budgets and expenses. Experience with membership activities, managing member affinity programs, and creating marketing/promotion messages highly desirable. Experience reviewing/writing contractual agreements and working in a medical association or non-profit background preferred.

Excellent interpersonal, verbal/written communication, diplomacy, analytical, negotiation, and critical thinking skills required. Strong technical acumen essential with proficiency in MS Office and the ability to learn and apply new technologies; experience with MagnetMail, CRMs (e.g. netForum), document collaboration sites (e.g., SharePoint), and virtual meeting platforms (e.g., WebEx. Teams) preferred. Some evening/weekend work and travel may be required, along with the need for flexibility in arranging work schedule to accommodate physicians’ availability.

Hybrid work environment of 40% of work time in the office per month.
