National Safety Council Surveys Consultant Senior Manager (Part-Time) in Itasca, Illinois

We are currently looking for a Surveys Consultant Senior Manager (Part-Time) to join us in our mission to save lives and prevent injuries.

Position Highlights:

The Senior Manager, Surveys Consultant utilizes his/her technical knowledge, business acumen, and consulting experience to develop proposals, capture new business for NSC, and ensure client satisfaction with NSC Consulting & Assessments. The Senior Manager, Surveys Consultant manages engagements in the field as a Project Leader and may serve in a highly visible role representing NSC consulting capabilities at external conferences, professional meetings, and other venues with business development opportunities.

The Senior Manager, Surveys Consultant will be responsible for providing direct services on assessments projects from inception to completion. He/she will assist clients in solving issues they face. The Senior Manager, Surveys Consultant will meet with client employees, executives, or other stakeholders to understand the challenges faced by the client organization. They may direct the research and analysis conducted by members of consulting and assessments project teams and uses this information to draw conclusions and develop recommendations. The Senior Manager, Surveys Consultant will present research, findings, and recommendations to clients.

What You’ll Do:

Survey Project Management/Client Relations Management Duties (50%):

  • Serve as a subject matter expert (survey research, mathematical, safety culture) for delivery of NSC survey services offerings.

  • Manage numerous concurrent large/medium organizational safety/culture survey studies (internally and externally).

  • Facilitate client meetings to advise on survey development, methodology, timeline, and communication.

  • Present survey results (statistical and non-statistical results) in meetings for external clients.

  • Facilitate action planning sessions, focus groups, and other client-focused meetings.

  • Develop action planning resources and recommendations for organizational change following the study.

  • Work with NSC sales team and surveys manager to prospect new clients, professional respond to new opportunities, develop technical proposals, commercial proposals, and cost estimates.

  • Manage and pursue the pipeline of existing clients and prospects with individual outreach and strategic content development.

  • Interact with NSC survey clients to understand needs and provide guidance on which products and services best addresses those needs.

    Survey Research Technical Responsibilities and Duties (40%)

  • Ensure all work is research-based and SME reviewed.

  • Lead and coach non-sr. analysts in analyzing survey database for insights and trends in Qualtrics/SPSS.

  • Oversee technical implementation of NSC standardized surveys into Qualtrics that involve logic, embedded data, scoring, and branching.

  • Provide meticulous ongoing quality assurance of data, analysis, reports, presentations and other deliverables to ensure correct, complete, and relevant results.

  • Oversee quantitative and qualitative data analysis of survey responses.

  • Quality control of client results including analysis, database management, reports/dashboards.

  • Collaborate with survey team to develop custom survey instruments and reporting.

    ​​​​​​​ Other Duties

  • Responsible for monitoring significant trends in safety, culture, and is well versed in the NSC policy and positioning statements relative to workplace safety.

  • Partner with Director, Assessments on product development and thought leadership content generation

    We’re Looking for Someone with: 

  • Master’s degree in social sciences, statistics or related field.

  • Minimum 10 years working in survey research, statistics, or a related field. Must have work experience that demonstrates familiarity with advanced survey research.

  • Minimum of 2 years of work experience providing service and consultation with external stakeholders.

  • Proficient in Qualtrics, SPSS, and Excel. (Qualtrics Essentials or Expert Certifications a plus)

  • Occupational Health and Safety experience a plus: OSHA certification, CSP designation, ASC and/or other safety certification

  • Bilingual communication skills a plus

  • Demonstrate reliability and flexibility in supporting NSC Initiatives

  • This is a part-time remote role

  • Hourly rate is $55.00
