Responsibilities

Mayo Clinic’s Office of Sponsored Projects Administration (OSPA) performs pre-award and non-financial post award activities for all Mayo Clinic entities. As the OSPA site leader and grants official at Mayo Clinic Jacksonville, the position will be required to be on the Jacksonville campus 2-3 days a week minimum. Position will lead OSPA pre-award operations for all Mayo Clinic sites, manage our grants system, foster strong partnerships with researchers and stakeholders, as well as lead on operational automation opportunities.

As an Operations Manager, you will

  • Manage operations for a large and complex program, lab, division or department.

  • Serve as a key member of the leadership team with a primary focus on administrative leadership, management of allied health staff, program budget development and oversight, operational and strategic planning, and implementation of policies and systems.

  • Partner closely with physician/scientist leadership to help advance research.

  • Perform duties independently and initiates judgment in handling a variety of management issues.

  • Direct reports include research supervisors and/or other department/division personnel.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree is required for this position.

  • Prefer Master's degree in Business or Healthcare field and two years healthcare management experience with strong leadership, team building, and problem-solving skills as well as demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with multiple disciplines, i.e., physician, administrative, supervisory, and allied health staff. A Bachelor's degree with a combination of directly-related experience and education may be considered.

  • Must have excellent communication, organizational and human relation skills.

  • Requires excellent decision-making and judgment capabilities.

  • Must have broad based knowledge of office support and computer systems along with spreadsheets, databases, statistics, software knowledge and installation, and accounting practices for budgetary responsibilities.
