Job Title: Cost Engineer
Job Description
The selected candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate quotes for new and existing products, creating cost models, organizing all sales inputs and quote documentation, auditing estimated cost versus actual cost of completed projects, and analyzing various pricing scenarios. The role also includes identifying cost reduction opportunities, assessing manufacturability, recognizing tool and fixture requirements, and providing design-related support as needed.
Hard Skills
BSME
Knowledge of metal fabrication and manufacturing processes such as optimized nesting, laser & plasma cutting, brake presses & panel bending, punch presses, CNC milling, lathes & drilling, and certified welding (Mig, Tig, Stick, Robotic, Spot, Bluco), powder coating
Ability to evaluate specifications from BOM and customer requirements to determine best quote with materials & processes
Strong Excel skills
Experience with Inventor or Solidworks

Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in Janesville, Wisconsin.
Work Environment
The successful candidate will be part of a team of three, with plans to grow the team to five in the future. The role involves cost estimating & quoting for all three locations. The role is 100% onsite, with potential for a hybrid model in the future. The engineer will work most frequently with the sales team and there is no external customer work.
