Parsons Corporation Senior Construction Manager - Attractions/Entertainment in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

Job Description:

Parsons is seeking an amazingly talented Senior Construction Manager - Attractions/Entertainment to join our team! In this role you will get to provide specific construction sector (Entertainment and Attractions) knowledge and experience as part of the overall Technical and Project Management team. With your experience coordinating Entertainment sector projects through the pre-contract phases of project from inception, planning, design, and procurement of construction works will propel your career and leadership opportunities forward.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Directs the overall planning of construction activities to identify critical milestones and priorities.

  • Determines budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule.

  • Ensures that the services of subcontractors and major construction equipment required by the project will be available at the appropriate time to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity.

  • Establishes assignments for Construction Superintendents for various work areas of construction operations, monitoring progress and recommending corrective action as necessary.

  • Conducts performance evaluations and recommends promotions and salary actions.

  • Manages the assignment of manpower, materials, and equipment to maximize efficiency, maintain schedules, and to meet budget goals.

  • Anticipates and resolves various problems such as changes in scope, slippage of schedules, and budget overruns.

  • Ensures that critical milestones are met for each phase of the project.

  • Ensures the use of sound construction practices to attain required quality control at the maximum efficiency and minimum cost.

  • Prepares periodic reports summarizing progress of construction activities for higher level management and clients, including formal presentations.

  • Ensures effective implementation of all Company and client policies and procedures, including labor relations policies.

  • Serves as the primary contact with client representatives, subcontractors, and government representatives for construction related activities. Maintains strong client and community relations, including making presentations to local civic organizations.

  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

  • Scheduling and coordination of project interactions among third party design consultants (LDC, and Specialist Rides and Attractions), client, Rides and Attractions vendors/contractors, and local stakeholders.

  • Ability to work with interdisciplinary teams of professionals.

  • Acts as the Company representative with the client and selected third party specialist design consultants and contractors during the program execution; following up on instructions and commitments associated with the project.

  • Works with other managers, project engineers, and discipline leads to develop budgets, schedules, and plans for the Attractions; ensures that the project meets or exceeds goals established in these plans.

  • Works with the key project individual to devise and execute actions plans to rectify potential cost overruns or delays, or to accommodate significant changes to the scope of work; advises the client and company management of any such changes.

  • Promotes technical and commercial excellence on the project through application of Quality Assurance processes.

  • Monitors and reports to senior management on the progress of all project construction activity within the program, including significant milestones, and any conditions, which would affect project cost or schedule.

  • Participates in weekly Construction Management team meetings to review project status and formulate action items.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architectural or Engineering.

  • 15+ years of related experience on large scale projects/programs in Entertainment sector.

  • Must have the ability to develop strong working relationships with third party design consultants, contractors and vendors, interface and coordinate project performance with other disciplines, interpret and deliver client's vision.

  • A track record with PMC and Main Contractors would be a suitable background.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of industry standards.

  • Proven ability to perform in a management capacity, excellent written and oral communications.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Professional registration (CEng PE, AIA or equivalent) preferred.
