Position Summary:

The College of Nursing and Health Professions is currently accepting applications for the position of the Bachelor of Science in Health Studies Program Coordinator. This is a full-time (9 month), non-tenure track position beginning Fall 2024.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Teaching:

  1. Participates in the development and evaluation of curriculum, course content, and test construction

  2. Responsible for didactic courses delivery and/or assignment

  3. Establishes effective coordinating relationships with co-workers in providing leadership for the program

  4. Continues education for professional growth

  5. Monitors and assesses the BSHS program outcomes

    Service:

  6. Participates in academic advising and guidance of students

  7. Maintains office hours

  8. Participate in the faculty organization and appropriate program, college, and university activities

  9. Serves on assigned program, college, and university committees

  10. Sponsors and promotes planned activities of students, programs, college, and university

  11. Contributes to the community through involvement in and/or consultation to health-related organizations, board membership, or professional presentations to the public

  12. Participates in planning for the continued growth and progress of the program through faculty and student recruitment and retention efforts

    Holds membership and participates in organizations that advance their profession.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Teaching ability in higher education

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing

General Days/Hours:

Monday- Friday

8 am to 5 pm

Responsible to the Dean, CNHP

Preferred Qualifications:

Teaching in the BSHS program and other specific to expertise.

Minimum Qualifications:

An earned Doctorate degree in Nursing or other healthcare fields, consistent with the degree offerings in the CNHP

At least five (5) years of experience in a clinical healthcare setting

At least three (3) years experience as an educator
