Juneau Animal Rescue Administrative Officer in Juneau, Alaska

Compute, classify, and record numerical data to keep financial records complete. Perform any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records. May also check the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by other workers.

The successful candidate must have: proficiency in computerized accounting programs and generally acceptable accounting procedures including but not limited to: accounts payable and receivable, Quick Books, payroll. Additionally, the successful candidate must have effective verbal, written, time management and listening skills.

The Administrative Officer is responsible for maintaining the day-to-day financial, accounting, and personnel services. This includes but is not limited to daily accounting, bill payment, accounts receivable and general human resource management. The Administrative Officer reports directly to the Executive Director and provides assistance to all areas of the shelter.

The candidate must have proficient knowledge and a demonstrated ability in the following areas:

  1. Computerized accounting programs including Quick Books

  2. Accounts payable and accounts receivable

  3. Generally acceptable accounting procedures

  4. Payroll systems and reporting

  5. Analytical and problem-solving skills

  6. Effective verbal and listening skills

  7. Effective written skills

  8. Effective time management

  9. Social media savvy.
