POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for leadership of the Youth Community Services and Youth Crisis Team. Provides supervision of employees and acts as community liaison for services provided by teams.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Provides direct supervision of the Youth crisis team QMHP’s and Case Manager; and Youth Community Services Supervisor to ensure appropriate clinical response, crisis response, service provision and coverage.

• Participates in Statewide initiatives for youth services.

• Ensures that the Family First Act Initiative expectations are being met.

• Participates in the Child Enhancement Program meetings as needed.

• Coordinates youth services and youth crisis team functioning including staff meetings, regular supervision, quality improvement, policy/procedure compliance and performance reviews.

• Collaborates with agency leaders and DBH in implementing the Zero Suicide initiative at Beacon and works collaboratively with other leaders across the agency.

• Oversees the SCL (Supportive Community Living) programs to maximize quality treatment while monitoring the budgetary constraints and DMH requirements to assure compliance.

• Ensures collaboration between Healthcare Home team and youth community support services teams, including ongoing education and training to community support teams regarding their role as health coaches.

• Serves as Agency point person and lead for all youth community Provider agencies with whom Beacon contracts for services. Responsible for care coordination and oversight of all youth contract agencies.

• Responsible for oversight of teams, budgets, and personnel leadership and management of all activities and services for Youth Community and Youth Crisis teams.

• Provides crisis back up including assessment and referral, crisis face-to-face or phone calls regularly as scheduled or as needed.

• Ensures collaboration between other departments to ensure continuity of care, with a trauma informed care approach.

• Establishes liaison relationships with area youth serving agencies for the purpose of promoting positive working relationships and service coordination including area SOC (System of Care) Teams.

• Assists with coordination of crisis back up schedule.

• Collaborates with community partners to build relationships and actively seeks additional opportunity to support needs of at-risk youth and their families.

• Provides backup coverage as needed to direct reports.

• Works alongside Director of Youth Services and Prevention to identify gaps in services and ways to address needs.

• In coordination with QI team, contributes to quality assurance and compliance oversight of community clinical programming. Audits both Agency and Provider client records, monitoring as applicable, and plans of correction developed as a result of the reviews. Provides compliance related training and technical assistance, as indicated.

• Completes clinical documentation in AVATAR within 72 hours of service provided which clearly reflect interventions provided and necessity of those interventions.

• Actively promotes Youth Mental Health and Wellness by participating in activities including but not limited to Children's Mental Health week.

• Maintains knowledge of agency technology programs and/or systems needed to do the job and uses them effectively.

• Maintains positive image of Agency, demonstrating professionalism and integrity interfacing with resources and community contact outside of the agency.

• Maintains required training and certifications.

• Ensures staff meets agency productivity standards.

• Actively participates with the other agency leaders in staff meetings.

• Participate in Executive team meetings as needed.

• Other duties and/or responsibilities may be assigned by supervisor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

Education/Certifications:

• Master’s Degree required.

• Clinical Licensure (e.g., LPC, LCSW) required

• CPR/First Aid Certification

• Active Driver’s license and minimum state-mandated auto insurance required.

Experience Required:

• 2-3 years of position-related experience required.

Required Knowledge:

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point).

• Prior mental health and/or substance use knowledge required.

• Strong knowledge of clinical best practices in behavioral health and Trauma Informed Care practices.

• Prior healthcare technology software experience preferred.

Skills/Abilities

• Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to present healthcare information in an understandable manner to both individuals and groups as needed.

• Strong interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills.

• Strong clinical assessment skills, terminology, diagnoses, and best practice knowledge required.

• The ability to develop various presentations, trainings and programs on various clinical topics.
