THE OPPORTUNITY

Looking to do what you love at a dynamic and Innovative consulting firm? Ecora is looking for a talented and motivated Landscape Architect / Landscape Designer to join the Landscape Architecture department at our Kelowna location on a permanent full-time basis.

Ecora is committed to creating and delivering exceptional quality service to our valued clients and has extensive experience delivering of landscape, parks, and urban design master plans, coupled with community and public engagement efforts, site design from conceptual design through construction administration and project delivery on a variety of settings and scale-levels, from private development projects through public and municipal projects. Ecora provides consulting services to provincial government, municipalities, First Nation communities, resource industry companies, architects, developers, and contracting firms throughout British Columbia.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as a technical lead or assist the lead on Landscape Architecture projects.

  • Prepare detailed design drawings, specifications, and construction documents.

  • Lead or assist with client projects and discipline specific projects for internal and external clients.

  • Develop or assist in developing conceptual and schematic designs that integrate site context, programmatic requirements, and sustainability principles.

  • Conduct site analysis and research to inform design decisions.

  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to understand project requirements, goals, and constraints.

  • Participate on a variety of project types including complex landscape architectural designs.

  • Project scoping, scheduling, and concept design through construction phase project management to execute work.

  • Participate in client meetings, presentations, and workshops to communicate design concepts and progress.

  • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies during the design and construction phases.

  • Provide project management support, including budgeting, scheduling, and quality control.

  • ยท Assist in the preparation of landscape proposals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Vectorworks Landmark. Additional proficiency in AutoCAD LandFX would be highly desirable.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in landscape architecture from an accredited program.

  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in landscape architecture or related field.

  • Proficiency in using SketchUp, Microsoft Office software, and Adobe Suite graphics software (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong design conceptualization and graphic communication skills in communicating design ideas.

  • Experience with project management, including budgeting and scheduling.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment both independently and collectively, demonstrating good interpersonal skills and organizational abilities.

  • The capacity to liaise with other professional disciplines, approving agencies, and municipal authorities, building strong relationships and facilitating project approvals is desirable.

  • Ability to prepare and conduct presentations, engage in public speaking, and cultivate positive client relationships, ensuring client satisfaction and project success is desirable.

  • Knowledge of sustainable design principles and green building practices.

NICE TO HAVES:

  • Membership or eligibility with relevant professional associations (e.g., AALA, BCSLA) is desirable, reflecting a commitment to professional development and industry standards. Registration with the BCSLA would be an asset.
