Robert Half Accounting Assistant in Kendall, Florida

Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Accounting Assistant in the Higher Education industry, based in Kendall, Florida. The successful candidate will be integral to the cash management department, responsible for a variety of tasks including account reconciliation, auditing, and accounts payable tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Handle accounting tasks within the cash management department

• Carry out reconciliation of accounts and ensure accuracy of financial data

• Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards

• Manage accounts payable tasks, ensuring payments are made in a timely and accurate manner

• Utilize technical skills, specifically in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook for various accounting tasks

• Familiarize and work with accounting software/ERP for financial operations

• Communicate effectively with team members and other departments, both verbally and in writing

• Multitask and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment

• Continually learn and adapt to new accounting practices and procedures. Requirements • Applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Proven experience in a similar role within the Higher Education industry is desirable.

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation is a must.

• Strong knowledge of general accounting procedures.

• Proficiency in data entry and management.

• Experience with accounting software and MS Excel.

• High attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong organizational and planning skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Must be authorized to work in the country.
