Mechanical General ForemanWe are looking for a seasoned Mechanical General Foreman to oversee our mechanical trades teams in support of ongoing projects at Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base. This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your leadership skills while managing trades crews, including Pipefitters, Plumbers, and Sheet Metal Installers.
As a Mechanical General Foreman, you will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination, supervision, and technical direction of your assigned teams, ensuring projects meet high-quality standards, codes, and safety requirements. You'll work closely with the Piping Superintendent and Project Manager to ensure each phase of the project runs smoothly, on time, and within budget.
What You'll Do:
Lead and coordinate mechanical trades crews, ensuring the work aligns with project specifications and codes.
Supervise crews including Pipefitters, Plumbers, Sheet Metal Installers, and laborers, offering guidance and support when necessary.
Apply mechanical principles to resolve challenges and ensure timely, safe, and efficient work.
Utilize industry-leading equipment and safety protocols in all phases of the project.
Collaborate closely with your team, ensuring quality work and safety at every stage.
What We're Looking For:
Minimum Education: High school diploma or GED. Additional training in construction management or mechanical trade school is a plus.
Experience: 5+ years of experience as a Mechanical Foreman on projects worth at least $400,000 (commercial/industrial).
Trade Knowledge: 5+ years of field experience with mechanical systems (Piping, Plumbing, HVAC, and/or Ductwork installation).
Skills & Expertise:
Soldering and brazing of copper, welding ferrous and non-ferrous metals in a range of pipe sizes (½" and larger).
Ductwork installation and air leak testing.
Computer proficiency (Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word).
Experience using survey equipment (e.g., Trimble).
BIM Software proficiency.
CPR/First Aid & OSHA-30 Certifications.
EM-385 & STS certifications (Training can be provided).
