BAE Systems Program Manager - Industrial Construction in Kingsport, Tennessee
Job Description
BAE Systems is hiring a Program Manager to join our dynamic team onsite at Holston Army Ammunition Plant (HSAAP) in Kingsport TN. The Program Manager plays a key role in ensuring the successful execution of strategic initiatives, complex facility development, and construction projects. The Program Manager will be accountable for Profit and Loss (P&L) for assigned projects.
Responsibilities:
Lead a cross functional project team of project management, engineering, contracting, finance, and operations professionals to successfully deliver large scale (>$100M), highly complex Capital Investment projects on time and within budget.
Accountable for profit and loss for assigned projects.
Determine project scope of work, project performance objectives, success standards, and acceptance criteria.
Sequence and schedule the project work elements and determine the resources required for each work element.
Identify work elements of the project, assign work and follow-up as project demands.
Prepare cost estimates and establish budgets for the project work elements.
Partner with Procurement Department to obtain bid quotations from subcontract and materials suppliers.
Support the Portfolio Manager, PMO, and functional leadership to assign personnel to specific projects based on each respective project s needs versus the skill sets and experience to ensure execution of all requirements.
Communicate summaries and recommendations to the Portfolio Manager based on assessment of internal and external resources.
Develop and/or support the development complex engineering and/or construction proposals.
Lead sub-contractor and supplier management activities to is ensure critical job performance.
Serve as the point of contact for subcontractors, providing leadership and direction to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget constraints.
Identify risks and opportunities, anticipate challenges, and implement mitigation plans and problem solving while communicating transparently with the customer.
Serve as primary interface for internal and external customers.
Prepare and deliver briefings and reports for executive leadership and government customers.
Solve complex technical problems by providing leadership for developing and implementing project plans.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or related and 10 years work experience or equivalent experience
Experience in Program/Project Management in the Defense, Construction, Oil & Gas, or Chemical industry
Experience in Profit and Loss (P&L) accountability, delivering complex projects
Experience in People Management/Cross-functional Team Leadership to deliver or exceed on performance standards
Experience in Technical Writing, such as proposals, statement of work (SOW), or similar
Ability to identify risks and opportunities, anticipate challenges, and implement mitigation plans
Ability to communicate effectively to senior management and customers
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Master s Degree in Engineering, Business, or related
Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) by the Project Management Institute (PMI) or DAWIA Level III Program Management
Experience in Industrial Construction, Facilities, Capital projects
Experience in Earned Value Management (EVMS) or similar performance measurement tool
Experience in developing Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) with sound logic through such tools as MS Project, Primavera, Deltek, etc.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $115110 - $195660
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
