WESTERN TECHNICAL COLLEGE Faculty Developer in LA CROSSE, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Summary of Position: The Faculty Developer will support Faculty in their teaching from a pedagogical perspective and serve as a project manager on department initiatives. The Faculty Developer must stay current in teaching and educational technology trends and as such is expected to actively and continuously engage in his or her own professional development. This position works to promote social justice within the division and the larger academic institution. This is a hybrid eligible position that would allow for 2-3 days a week working from home after the training period. Essential Functions: 1. Complete all required College training and responsible for maintaining the skills necessary to complete the essential functions of the position as defined by the department. 3. Faculty Support - Supporting Action/Task May Include: Plans and supports faculty in onboarding, mentoring and ongoing best practices in andragogy, instructional technology, and scholarship of teaching and learning Guide faculty in assessment and adaptation of instructional content across courses and modalities Design, facilitate and support Faculty Quality Assurance System (FQAS) courses to support teaching and learning certification for adjunct instructors Recruit, train and develop faculty peer resources and coaches to support the college\'s key instructional-related initiatives for full and adjunct faculty Co-monitor Faculty Quality Assurance Certification requirements for full-time and adjunct faculty Co-communicates Faculty Quality Assurance requirements with full-time and adjunct faculty, deans and Human Resources. Provides learning and teaching feedback to faculty in connection to the performance review cycle Provides directed support as needed with faculty/staff in connection to improvement plans Monitors important developments and research regarding student learning and teaching effectiveness Contribute to department\'s website, communications, and coordination of professional development 5. System Management and Support - Supporting Action/Task May Include: Support Blackboard Learning Management System, the web conference platforms (Zoom, MS Teams, etc.), multiple course modalities (hybrid, blended, face to face, etc.) working knowledge of WIDS curriculum management system, SharePoint Application of: Educational Justice Framework (DEI), standards-based grading, project-based learning, performance-based assessment, work-based learning, community-based learning, high impact practices, Universal Design for Learning and universal accommodations, differentiated instructional strategies, etc. in connection to the faculty experience to ensure student success Oversee, coordinate, and perform technical aspects of assigned projects Collaborate with Resource Development and Western\'s Foundation to identify and secure funding for faculty development as it relates to teaching and learning ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor\'s Degree in Education or related field with 5 years occupational experience Preferred Qualifications: Master\'s degree in Education Experience working with adult learners in an educational setting ***** APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS: Apply Online: http://www.westerntc.edu/employment/
