The Toxics Cleanup Program{rel="nofollow"} (TCP) within the Department of Ecology (Ecology) is looking to fill two *Public Involvement Coordinator (Community Outreach & Environmental Education Specialist 3) *positions. These positions are located in our *Southwest Region Office *in Lacey, WA.{rel="nofollow"} Upon hire, you must live within a commutable distance from the duty station.   As a Public Involvement Coordinator, your work will involve developing, planning and implementing public involvement activities at cleanup sites in the Southwest Region of Washington, in line with the Model Toxics Control Act and other applicable laws. This includes researching, developing and maintaining a variety of content across media, including brochures, fact sheets, pamphlets, displays, and innovative public outreach materials to increase public knowledge, and engagement opportunities.   Opportunities to increase public engagement on cleanup activities also include:

  • Developing strategic recommendations to improve access, reduce barriers, and ensure more inclusive and equitable outreach and engagement.
  • Conducting demographic assessment of the intended audience and potentially affected population to identify planning needs related to providing culturally effective communication, language access, and other tailored outreach strategies.
