Correctional Services Consultant – 70002858

This advertisement is for a Career Service position located in Central Florida in the Office of Programs and Reentry-Bureau of Education.

Salary Rate: $55,500.12 annually

SALARY WILL BE DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CURRENT PAY POLICY.

SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct site visits for purposes of providing information to institutional leadership regarding resources in communities, including employment, housing, transportation, counseling, etc.

  • Generate data for reports and create reports relative to release data.

  • Communicate content for 100-Hour Transition Skills Education Programs and train institutional staff on instructing the content. Monitor compliance with Procedure 504.001 and train institutional staff (FTE and Contract) on the Procedure.

  • Engage community providers to increase services to returning citizens and offenders at transition, to include employment.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of basic management and corrections principles and practices, and ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to operational and management analyst activities.

  • Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication.

  • Knowledge in the methods of data collection.

  • Skills in analytical reviews; ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Skills in fact-finding research.

  • Skills in communicating with others to effectively convey information.

  • Ability to develop various reports.

  • Ability to assist in administrating a corrections program.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with others.

  • Ability to plan, organize and direct program activities.

  • Ability to manipulate large amounts of data and compile detailed reports.

  • Ability to plan, organize and direct program activities.

  • Ability to analyze and evaluate programs.

  • Ability to develop and coordinate statewide programs.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or its equivalent.

  • A valid state of Florida driver’s license.

  • Two years of experience in either corrections, workforce development, social services,orassociate degree.

  • Fluent in MS office Suite.

  • Ability to interpret and follow policies and procedures.

  • Ability to collect data and interpret.

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
