Robert Half Grant Accountant/Audi Prep in Lakewood, Washington

Description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Grant Accountant to handle our financial reporting and audit preparation during the high-demand audit season. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing financial reports, maintaining financial records, and ensuring compliance with federal regulations. The ultimate aim will be to facilitate interpretation of financial data to influence decision-making and to ensure our company meets all regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review grant budgets, budget revisions, and financial reports in compliance with grant agreements.

  • Ensure all grant-related activities are in compliance with federal and state laws and regulations.

  • Assist in the preparation for grant-related audits and any other financial audits.

  • Prepare financial reports and reconcile monthly grant expenses.

  • Assist with the preparation of the annual budget of the Grants Program.

  • Maintain documentation of grant activities in accordance with record retention policies.

  • Partner with grant project managers to forecast expenses and provide financial reporting data.

  • Provide training and technical assistance to department staff and external contacts regarding grant and fiscal management.

  • Perform other fiscal or administrative duties as assigned.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in grants or non-profit organization.

  • In-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

  • Advanced knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations related to grants management.

  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis on Excel.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accurate data entry skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
