Chromalloy Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) Manager in Lam Luk Ka, Thailand

The EHS Manager will join a team of global professionals partnering in the in the pursuit of Chromalloy’s mission for perfect safety, EHS compliance, and sustainability. The EHS Manager will have site-level responsibility to supplement line management safety activities by providing assistance and advice to them and by coordinating the many activities into a functioning EHS program. EHS staff do not relieve line management of its basic responsibility for the management of Safety. They ensure that the Corporate EHS management system (EHSMS) is implemented into the site and that it is maintained as required. This includes, but is not limited to, the creation, review, and update of the EHSMS process documents, visual management of safety standards, incident investigation, permit and regulatory reporting adherence, employee engagement, and implementation of the EHS Policy. They are also responsible to: 

  • Register with Ministry of Labor as a Head of Safety Department and perform role and responsibilities by law.

  • Register with Ministry of Industrial Work as an Environmental Manager and perform role and responsibilities by law.

  • Lead the site EHS Team and ensure the development of local EHSMS where necessary to meet legal and company requirements. 

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable EHS regulations and permits. 

  • Keep informed of changes in Federal, State, and local safety regulations and keep up to date with respect to current EHS standards and activities being used by industrial organizations and to communicate such information to Line Management. 

  • Ensure training is provided to site personnel so that they can work safely and comply with the requirements of the EHSMS. 

  • Participate jointly with line management in the investigation of incidents. Participation will be in accordance with established company procedures. 

  • Conduct periodic independent inspections of the plant to evaluate the effectiveness of regular departmental safety inspections and environmental management. Findings & Recommendations are to be reported in writing to Line Management. 

  • Conduct periodic safety observation inspections to evaluate the effectiveness of the plant’s observation program. Findings of unsafe work practices are to be reported to Line Management. 

  • Work closely with Engineering Department personnel to ensure that the safety of employees and the protection of company property are integral parts of the planning, designing and construction of facilities or modifications to existing facilities. 

  • Work with supervisors and department managers to complete job/task risk assessments, including the evaluating the need for PPE based on the tasks and risks associated with them. Make recommendations to minimize the risk(s) associated with the task and to identify the appropriate PPE to be used for the task(s). 

  • Work with the Site Lead to develop annual EHS plans, objectives, and targets, and supports monthly reporting of performance.

  • Manages the site’s use and on-time entry and closure of incidents, hazard identification, and compliance-critical information in the company’s central EHS data management system.

  • Hold themselves and employees accountable for EHS, including the Life Saving Rules.

  • Accountable for Aviation Safety Management System as SMS Manager.

  • Ensure effectiveness and control of the physical security (security guard, access control, CCTV).

  • Accountable for Wastewater Treatment System.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, environmental engineering, or master’s degree.

  • Minimum of 5 - 8 years of EHS experience in aerospace business or manufacturing operation.

  • Certified as a Hazardous substance specialist (Bor Chor 3), Industrial Waste Management Supervisor, Water/Air Pollution Supervisor would be advantage.

Skills

  • Excellent leadership skills: Communicate clear objectives, provide feedback, and suggest improvement for individual performance, coaches.

  • Proficient in English, capable of effective professional communication.

  • Proficient in computer systems, data management, and data-based problem solving/root cause analysis.

Knowledge

  • In-depth knowledge of pertinent laws, regulations, and standards within the manufacturing industry.

  • Knowledge in ISO 14001 and ISO 45001

  • Knowledge in Safety Management System for Aviation (SMS)
