Axient Cybersecurity Analyst in Langley AFB, Virginia

Axient is looking for Cybersecurity Analyst s to deliver mission support our customer onsite at Langley AFB, VA .

What you will do...

Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Provide advice and guidance to customer sponsored IT programs, main operating bases, geographically separated units and Combatant Commanders (COCOMs; Air Forces Northern (AFNORTH) and Air Forces Southern (AFSOUTH)) on program and higher-level Cybersecurity policy and its implementation and procedures used in the development, authorization, and operation of command systems/enclaves.

  • Interface with Joint and intra-governmental agencies in support of joint and virtual exercises. Review, analyze and support guidance for weapons systems and enclave Program Offices on Air Force authorization.

  • Work with AF Authorizing Officials’ staff, HQ AF CIO office, and DoD counterparts to help develop policy and tools required to manage Risk Management Framework (RMF) efforts, as well as providing cybersecurity advice and support guidance for IT solutions to aid in mission objectives.

  • Support dissemination of AF & program Cyber Security guidance with primary focus on Assess and Authorize (A&A) actions and requirements.

  • Support dissemination of AF & program A&A guidance with primary focus on AF Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS).

  • Provide system administration functions on Air Force Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS), the automated A&A tool for Risk Management Framework (RMF) implementations, for MAJCOM-sponsored systems/enclaves seeking Air Force Authorizing Official (AO) authorization.

  • Provide RMF/Network Information Security and Technology (NIST) or eMASS familiarization training for command-sponsored Program Management Offices (PMOs).

  • Interpret and refine DoD and other Federal Cyber Security guidance and constraints, and integrate them into draft concepts, tactics, techniques, and procedures for implementation.

  • Support policy and technical guidance on A&A of IT systems. Assist in the development and training of continuous monitoring (CM) practices.

  • Coordinate with other staff offices and agencies at DoD, SAF, and MAJCOM levels on Cyber 16 Security and A&A requirements for program sponsored systems/enclaves.

  • Assist PMOs with cybersecurity related items required under the Federal Information Systems Management Act (FISMA) and Information Technology Investment Portfolio System (ITIPS).

  • Assist in implementation of DoD and Air Force A&A programs, to include interfacing with higher headquarters, agencies, and field units to identify technical and programmatic requirements.

  • Help Represent the MAJCOM in AF and DoD level working groups and provide input that helps develop AF policy.

  • Assist in building, developing, and implementing the program’s migration to Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Continuous Monitoring (CM).

  • Build and provide training encompassing RMF and CM practices.

  • Provide RMF, Network Information Security and Technology (NIST) and eMASS familiarization training for command-sponsored Program Management Offices (PMOs).

  • Provide input that helps develop AF policy. Assist in EMASS system and user administration.

  • Assist in NIPRNet System/Network Approval Process (SNAP) or SIPRNet Global Information Grid (GIG) Interconnection Approval Process (GIAP) systems, for access, circuit tracking and updates.

Skills you will need...

Security Clearance

  • Must possess a transferrable (active or current) DoD security clearance at the required level (TS SCI) prior to starting work. Must be able to maintain the required clearance. Education

  • Bachelor’s degree desired; HS diploma or equivalent required.

Certification

  • Information Assurance (IA) Management (IAM) Level II certification IAW DoDD 8140, Cyberspace Workforce Management, and DoD 8570.01-M, Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program certification.

  • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) certification is minimally required.

Experience

Minimum 6 years of relevant experience required ; work experience must be recent having been performed within the last two years (serially or concurrently) :

  • Experience representing the MAJCOM when working with DoD, SAF, and AF AO officials to develop and interpret IA policies, guidelines, and principles.

  • Experience working with IT system enclaves and PMO systems to identify common issues that need to be resolved and creating documents when appropriate to ensure a repeatable process is developed.

  • Familiarization with AF IA-approved tools such as Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and Vulnerator.

  • Experience providing cybersecurity solution to meet mission requirements (e.g., develop a secure solution to support foreign national participation in military exercises).

  • Experience using automated tools relating to Risk Management Framework ( RMF ) and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) compliance and authorization for IT

  • Experience providing MAJCOM-level review of RMF packages to ensure initial RMF package submission is ready for AO’s Security Control Assessment.

  • Experience working issues pertaining to base-level network architecture with numbered air force (NAF) or higher staff organizations to include Authorizing Official (AO) and AF level representatives.

  • Experience providing eMASS user training and account administration.

  • Experience with Information Technology Investment Portfolio System (ITIPS).

  • Experience with DISA Global Information Grid (GIG) Interconnection Approval Process ( GIAP ) and DISA System Network Approval Process ( SNAP ).

  • Project Management and effective communications (oral and written) experience in DoD environment.
