Amentum Labor Relations Analyst I in Las Vegas, Nevada

Duties/Responsibilities:

Functions as the first point of contact for the head of Labor Relations and the LR team. Performs routine duties related to the administration, implementation and follow-up of labor relations activities including, but not limited to, benefits, compensation, leave, productivity, recognition and morale, training and development, disputes and investigations, performance and talent management, and workplace health and safety. Acts as a liaison between collective bargaining agreements, managers and departmental/corporate departments, including benefits and payroll.

Daily Duty: Act as a point of contact for the Labor Relations team for union requests for information (RFI’s) by working directly with the appropriate departments to obtain timely responses to RFIs. Assist Labor Relations Counsel in the preparation of CBA “red-line” and final drafts in Microsoft Word and Adobe PDF. Assist Labor Relations Quality Assurance Manager with PowerBI submissions and SharePoint sites. Assist Labor Relations with Department of Labor requests, including site level communications, completion of DOL forms for approval and research. Traveling to complex negotiations to support the LR team as needed. Oversee training materials used to train management and employees on DOL and LR requirements.

Project Lead: Collaborate with HR team professionals and oversee the labor relations process and strategy for responding to RFIs as appropriate. Monitor and analyze RFIs to ensure policies, benefit plans and other requested information are not proprietary and/or redacted as needed. Advanced knowledge of regulations and laws applicable to human resources and labor relations. Ability to listen and communicate clearly and persuasively with LR team, managers, employees and business groups. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to quickly gain trust when working across organizational boundaries. Systems thinker with strong critical thinking and problem solving skills. Ability to consider the needs of different stakeholders and find outcomes that work harmoniously between the Amentum team and the union.

Supports regulatory compliance, including communication and dissemination of company policies, federal, state and local labor laws and regulations, and mandatory training.

Support HR and HRIS activities within the program, including tasks related to contract proposals and new contract set-up, validating accuracy of HRIS data, adjusting organizational charts, changes to pay rates, wages, health and welfare benefits in the Service Contract Act option year, processing service bridges, leave and absence information, and other relevant information. Identify errors and make corrections and/or consult with the appropriate program manager.

Support program and corporate initiatives. Tracks status and prepares reports to analyze and distribute such activities. Assists in identifying best practices and makes recommendations to improve employee and manager experience, including new employee onboarding, training and performance management.

Develops knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes and new technologies in the areas of labor relations, policy, and labor law.

May be assigned special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Experience with government contracting and the Service Contract Act/wage determinations is preferred.

  • Ability to work remotely and maintain daily contact with Labor Relations Senior Director and Labor Relations Team.

  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations and ability to research updates and changes.

  • Confident in the use of Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

  • Proficiency with or ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems. Experience with Workday and Costpoint preferred.

Education and experience:

  • Associate degree required, bachelor’s degree in human resources, business or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience working with human resources policies, practices and procedures a plus.

  • SHRM-CP/PHR a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged sitting at a desk and working at a computer.

  • May require a US Government clearance at the Public Trust level.

  • The position is located at Las Vegas headquarters. Local travel or occasional out-of-state travel is possible.

  • Remote workers may be considered.
