Description If you're an experienced accountant with a knack for accuracy, Robert Half has a terrific opportunity for you to check out. Your responsibilities as Staff Accountant will include preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you'll have responsibility over many aspects of internal reporting. You'll also be participating in compliance, reviewing schedules for the reporting processes, and staying connected with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. A highly involved position, it works to produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Located in the Las Vegas, Nevada area, the company offering this challenging long-term contract / contract opportunity provides a thriving environment and rewards effort.
Responsibilities
Manage the design and creation of balance sheet analysis and communicate reports to management
Help with the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Take part in various department-wide initiatives
Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner
Be responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other assignments
Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed
Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Carry out month end close, journal entries, without supervision Requirements - Be detailed, flexible, and organized
Proficient in ERP systems
General ledger experience desired
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment
Skilled in analytical, quantitative and social skills
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Ability to meet deadlines
